This is an early 20th century Bartholomew of Cheltenham, England ginger beer bottle.

The bottle is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base commensurate with some 100 years of use.

The bottle is cylindrical in shape and round in cross-section, measuring 6 cm (2.4 inches) in diameter at its widest point. The bottle is embossed with the letters “Bartholomew Cheltenham” in upper case on one side and with the legend “B 23” to the base. It has its original cork stopper also embossed with “Bartholomew Cheltenham B 27”. Why the different nomenclature on cap and base we do not know. The bottle is 22.5 cm (9 inches) in height to the top of the cap. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There are some tiny abrasions on the extremities.

It weighs in at 460 g. (~ 1 lb.).
