This is a scarce Fish Graal bowl, designed for Orrefors by Edward Hald dating from the late 1950s. The vases are more common and bowls in this form are scarce.
The bowl is in the clear colourway with embedded engraved and green coloured fish and seaweed and measures 16 cm (6.4 inches) by 12 cm (4.8 inches) across the top rim. It is 4.5 cm (1.8 inches) in height. It weighs 1.42 kg. (~ 3 lb 2 oz.). There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There is significant wear to the base due to its weight and age, but all natural in origin. The words ‘Orrefors Graal No 471N E. Hald’ are incised into the flat end.
