This is a Georgian, English, facet cut stem wine glass dating from the second half of the 18th century, c1780.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot commensurate with some 250 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot.
The glass has an ovoid-shaped bowl measuring 5 cm (2 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is plain and sits on a hexagonally facet cut stem and a conical foot which measures 6.5 cm (2.6 inches) in diameter. The glass is 13.5 cm (5.4 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There is some slight roughness to the edge of the foot but no more than acceptable wear and tear.
English lead glass weighing in at 120 g. (~ 4 1/2 oz.).
