This is a Spanish polychrome enamelled vase dating from the first half of the 20th century and designed by the Catalan, José Royo.

The vase is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the base consistent with some 100+ years of use.

The bowl is blown in amber/orange glass and is blown in the shape of a thistle. The exterior of the vase has been enamelled with a polychromatic knight, shield and coronet with floral adornment. It measures 10.5 cm (4.2 inches) in diameter across the bowl rim and is 18.3 cm (7.3 inches) in height. The bottom of the vase carries the signature “Royo”. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.

It weighs in at 395 g. (~ 14 oz.).
