This is a Mdina of Malta randomly strapped squat bottle and stopper, the piece dating from the latter part of the 20th century.
The bottle is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the base consistent with some minimal use.
The bottle is of oblong form and was blown in clear glass striped with an orangey red and then strapped in blue glass. It measures 12 cm (4.8 inches) by 8 cm (3.2 inches) in cross-section. It ends in a base which carries the Mdina signature. The vase is 13.5 cm (5.4 inches) in height without the stopper and 20 cm (8 inches) in height with the stopper inserted. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
It weighs in at 1.4 kg. (~ 3 lb. 2 oz.).
