This is a set of seven (six and a spare) vintage Cristallerie Saint-Louis Astrid pattern wine or water goblets, dating from around 1930. The design features an Art Deco aesthetic with distinctive decoration of acid-etched “sheaves of water” (gerbes d’eau).
The glasses are in excellent condition for their age. They show a little age related wear and tear to the rims of the bases consistent with some 100 years of age and use.
The glasses have funnel-shaped bowls measuring 8.7 cm (3.5 inches) in diameter at the upper rims. The glasses have been blown in clear glass and then etched with gerbes d’eau. The bowls sit on short, knopped stems and plain feet which measure 7.3 cm (2.9 inches) in diameter. The glasses are 12.2 cm (4.9 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious signs of restoration. They are unsigned as all St. Louis crystal was until 1936. They do NOT come in their original box.
Each glass weighs in at 165 g. ( ~ 6 oz.).
