This is a quality, cut glass, lead crystal wine decanter and stopper produced by Wessex Crystal of Brierley Hill (near Stourbridge), England. It has been cut and polished individually by skilled craftsmen and comes complete with its certificate of authenticity.
The decanter is in excellent condition. We suspect it has never been used.
The body of the decanter is ovoid in shape and was blown in clear glass which has been cut and etched with a seascape featuring a dolphin It measures 10 cm (4 inches) in diameter at its widest point. The stopper is of cut solid ball form and is almost certainly the original. Assembled, the decanter measures 27.5 cm (11 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, scratches or any evidence of restoration. It is unsigned. It comes in its original presentation box.
Lead glass, it weighs in at 1.3 kg. (~ 2 lb. 14 oz.).
