This is a contemporary Jonathan Harris Graal Aztec pattern studio glass trial bowl, blown in 2003. It has a polished out pontil mark on the underside of the base. The word trial indicates that it was used to prove a technique or pattern and it is therefore probably unique.
The bowl is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows some wear and tear to the base and elsewhere commensurate with age and use.
The bowl is cup-shaped and is decorated in gold and blue in the Aztec pattern. The bowl measures 16 cm (6.4 inches) across at its widest point and sits on a gilded annular collar and a conical foot which measures 10.4 cm (4.1 inches) in diameter. The bowl is 14.8 cm (5.9 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches, or any other obvious signs of restoration. The legend “Jonathan Harris Ironbridge England 2003 Trial” is inscribed to the underside of the foot.
The bowl weighs in at 1.345 kg. (~ 3 lb.).
