This is a unique mouth-blown studio glass bowl, blown by Vic Bamforth, and dating from 2003. Vic is currently based in Stourbridge and his work is featured at the Corning Museum of Glass and elsewhere.
The bowl is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows some wear and tear to the base and elsewhere commensurate with some years of use.
The bowl is approximately fazzoletto in shape and is blown in clear glass which encases yellow, green and brown elements. The rim is irregular and folded onto itself at one point. The bowl measures 19.5 cm (7.8 inches) across at its widest point and is 18.5 cm (7.4 inches) in height. It ends in a plain base. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches, or any other obvious signs of restoration. The base bears the legend “Vic Bamforth 2003” to the edge.
The vase weighs in at 1.46 kg. (~ 3 lb. 3 oz.).
