This is a Kosta of Sweden Bubble vase, designed by Vicke Lindstrand, the design dating from the 1960s. The vase appears in Kosta’s 1960 catalogue so may be earlier.
The vase is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the base consistent with some 70 years of use.
The vase is a flattened teardrop in shape and is blown in clear glass with a non-medial reservoir and a single large controlled bubble in the thicker section. It measures 9.5 cm (3.8 inches) in width at its widest point. It ends in a base which is plain, save for a polished out pontil mark, and on which are etched the words “Kosta LH 1497”. The vase is 27 cm (10.8 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
It weighs in at 2.96 kg. (~ 6 lb. 8 oz.).
