This is a late Victorian celery vase dating from the second half of the 19th century.

The vase is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with some 100+ years of use.

The vase has an extended ovoid-shaped bowl measuring 9 cm (3.6 inches) in diameter at the scallop-cut rim and 10.5 cm (4.2 inches) in diameter at its widest point. The bowl is etched and cut with large flower heads within swags and tails. The bowl sits on a capstan stem with a large basal knop and a shallow, conical, round foot that measures 10.3 cm (4.1 inches) in diameter. The vase is 22.5 cm (9 inches) in height.

It weighs 500 g. ( ~ 1 lb. 2 oz.). There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There is some light scratching to the inner surface, probably resulting from cleaning.
