Description: Reino Liefkes (b. 1959) was Senior Curator of Ceramics and Glass, Department of Decorative Art and Sculpture at the Victorian and Albert Museum, London until May, 2026. Reino draws on the V&A collection plus other sources to give a comprehensive overview of the development of glass from when it was first used to make beads in Mesopotamia through to the current day. He uses images from the V&A collection and from other sources, some of which have not appeared elsewhere. A good solid read for those who want to understand the evolution of glass objects; a prerequisite for knowledgeable collecting.
