This is an etched vase, designed by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta of Sweden between 1955 and 1956.
The vase is in excellent condition. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with age and use.
The vase is of compressed ovoid form and measures 13.7 cm (5.5 inches) by 4.2 cm (1.7 inches) in diameter at the rim and is 18 cm (7.2 inches) in height. The vase is acid-etched with a pattern of tall grasses and ends in a base which carries a polished out pontil mark. The legend “Kosta LG 105” is inscribed onto the edge of the base There is a small etched flaw in the outside surface of the bowl dating from when it was decorated, the resist presumably having not been properly applied at that point. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
It weighs in at 930 g. (~ 2 lb. 1 oz.).
