This is a Franz Reuleaux designed enamelled and gilded glass cordial glass for the Fritz Heckert glass house in Petersdorf, Germany and dating from the early 20th century, c1910. The glass shows Islamic influence and is from the Jodhpur range.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with some 100+ years of use.
The glass has a shallow cup-shaped bowl measuring 5.5 cm (2.2 inches) in diameter at the bowl rim. The glass has been blown in clear glass and then enamelled and gilded. The rim of the bowl is gilded above a band of green enamel enhanced by gilded trailing foliage. The bulk of the bowl is gilded with a band of figurative flower stalks in primarily blue enamel with highlights in red, green and white. The stem is plain as it descends towards the foot but the bottom third of the stem is cut with six slices. The glass ends in a plain foot which measures 5.7 cm (2.3 inches) in diameter and displays a green enamelled and gilded band to the top that complements the band under the rim. The glass is 12.7 cm (5.1 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious signs of restoration. There is a small unburst bubble on the edge of the foot.
Lead glass. It weighs in at just 75 g. ( < 3 oz.).
