This is a Georgian, English, light green glass roemer (or römer) blown in the style of earlier Continental glasses and probably dating from the beginning of the 19th century, c1820, for the export market.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows the age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot and the rim of the bowl consistent with some 200 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the apex of the underside of the foot.
The glass has an ovoid-shaped bowl, measuring 6.5 cm (2.6 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is plain and sits on two thin milled collars and a hollow stem. The stem is decorated with three applied raspberry prunts. The stem leads to a conical, folded foot which measures 7.5 cm (3 inches) in diameter. The glass is 14 cm (5.6 inches) in height and weighs 145 g. (~ 5 oz.). It is blown in lead glass. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There is a collector’s sticker on the glass.
