These are a pair of late Victorian Thomas Webb Queen’s Burmese spill vases, dating from approximately 1890. The vases were made from a single gather of yellow glass which turned pink when reheated at the top.
The vases are in excellent condition for their age. This means, of course, that they show some wear and tear to the bases and elsewhere commensurate with 100+ years of use.
The vases are of baluster shape and change from yellow to salmon in colour as they ascend. The rims are folded and crimped and measure 6.5 cm (2.6 inches) across. The bowls flare out into a baluster shape. The vases are 8.5 cm (3.4 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches, or any other obvious signs of restoration. The bases bear the acid etched Thos. Webb trademark and the registration number 67648 and carry a collector’s stickers.
Each vase weighs in at 105 g. (~ 4 oz.).
