This is a Georgian, Continental (probably Dutch), colour twist wine glass with shoulder knop dating from the second half of the 18th century, c1770.

The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot commensurate with some 250 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot.

The glass has a bell-shaped bowl measuring 6.5 cm (2.6 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is engraved with a trailimg, fruiting vine below the rim with stars below. The bowl sits on a colour twist stem consisting of a two white enamel tapes and two ruby coloured tapes wound around a central gauze with a shoulder knop. The stem ends in a conical foot which measures 7 cm (2.8 inches) in diameter. The glass is 15.7 cm (6.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
