This is a Georgian, English, plain jelly glass dating from the second half of the 18th century, c1770.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with some 200 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot.
The glass has a bell-shaped bowl measuring 6.6 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter at the top rim. The bowl is plain and sits on an annular knop and a conical foot which measures 5.3 cm (2.1 inches) in diameter. The glass is 10 cm (4 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There are two collector’s stickers to the bottom of the foot.
It is made from English lead metal weighing 105 g. (~ 4 oz.).
