This is a Georgian, English, engraved funnel bowl dram or gin glass dating from the middle of the 18th century, c1760.

The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the foot consistent with some 200 years of age and use. There is a rough pontil mark to the underside of the foot.

The glass has a funnel-shaped bowl measuring 5.4 cm (2.1 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is naively engraved with stars and swags of olives and sits on a plain stem. The stem ends in a conical, folded foot which measures 6.2 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter. The glass is 10.5 cm (4.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. The glass has a couple of unburst bubbles in both the metal of the bowl and the metal of the foot dating from manufacture.

English lead glass weighing in at 90 g. (~ 3 oz.).
