This is a Georgian, English, engraved bucket bowl dram or gin glass dating from the beginning of the 19th century, c1820.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the foot consistent with some 200 years of age and use. There is a rough pontil mark to the underside of the foot.
The glass has a bucket-shaped bowl measuring 5.7 cm (2.3 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is naively engraved with a trailing, fruiting vine and sits on a plain stem with medial and basal knops. The stem ends in a conical, folded foot which also measures 5.7 cm (2.3 inches) in diameter. The glass is 10.2 cm (4.1 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. The glass has a couple of unburst bubbles in the metal of the foot dating from manufacture.
English lead glass weighing in at 100 g. (~ 3 1/2 oz.).
