This is a rare set of six mouth-blown cut glass 19th century sweetmeat glasses with knopped facet-cut stems.
The glasses are in excellent condition for their age. They show age related wear and tear to the rims of the feet consistent with some 100+ years of use.
The glasses have been blown in clear glass. The glasses have double ogee-shaped bowls measuring 10.3 cm (4.1 inches) in diameter at the rims which are dentated and take the form of an eight-sided rose when viewed from above. The bowls are cut with panels and prisms. The glasses sit on facet-cut stems with medial angular knops and panel-cut domed feet which measure 8.7 cm (3.5 inches) in diameter, the edges of which also take the form of an eight-sided rose. The glasses are 16.2 cm (6.5 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious signs of restoration.
Each glass weighs in at 400 g. ( ~ 14 oz.). A rare set that will amaze at the dinner table.
