This is a small, late Georgian mould-blown oil cruet or bottle, dating from the beginning of the 19th century, c1820.
The cruet is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear consistent with some 200 years of use.
The cruet is blown in clear glass and is an extended oval in shape. It measures 5.3 cm (2.1 inches) in diameter, is 15 cm (6 inches) in height without the stopper and 17 cm (6.8 inches) in height with the stopper in place. The bottle is cut with a band of stars above moulded panel fluting. The cruet ends in a short piece of plain stem and a lemon squeezer foot which measures 4.7 cm (1.9 inches) across. There are the normal minor chips to the edges and corners of the square foot. There are no other chips, cracks, significant scratches or any other obvious evidence of restoration.
It weighs in at 205 g. (~ 7 oz.).
