This is a late Georgian, engraved glass tumbler dating from the early part of the 19th century, c1830.

The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base commensurate with some 200 years of use. It has a polished out pontil mark on the underside of the base.

The glass is roughly cylindrical in shape, measuring 9.5 cm (3.8 inches) in diameter at the upper rim. The bowl is engraved with the letters “IMG” (?) within a laurel leaf cartouche with foliage descending and with a single hop flower flanked by barley ears to verso. The glass ends in a base that measures 8.5 cm (3.4 inches) in diameter. The glass is 10.5 cm (4.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.

English lead glass weighing in at 350 g. (~ 12 oz.).
