This is a pair of late Georgian, engraved, facet cut stem dram or gin glasses dating from the early part of the 19th century, c1810.
The glasses are in excellent condition. They show light age related wear and tear consistent with some 200 years of age and use. They have polished out pontil marks on the underside of the feet.
The glasses measure 6.3 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter across the bowl rims. The glasses are engraved under the rims with a band of trailing ferns and are petal-flute cut to the lower halves, the cutting carrying on down the stems. The glasses are 12.5 cm (5 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration. Each glass weighs 85 g. (~ 3 oz.).
