This is a Georgian, English, wrythen-moulded jelly glass dating from the turn of the 18th/19th centuries, c1800.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with some 200 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot.
The glass has a bell-shaped bowl measuring 5.6 cm (2.2 inches) in diameter at the top rim. The bowl is wrythen-moulded and sits on a wrythened annular knop and a conical foot which measures 5 cm (2 inches) in diameter. The glass is 9.7 cm (3.8 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There is a small unburst bubble in the metal of the foot dating from manufacture.
It is made from English lead metal weighing 90 g. (~ 3 oz.).
