This is a limited edition Kosta of Sweden teapot sculpture, model 7263021, designed by Kjell Engman, the design dating from 1980.
The sculpture is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with some use.
The sculpture is in the form of a teapot with the body in yellow glass and the handle and spout in blue glass. The body is decorated to one side with four moving figures in brown and brown lines, possibly signifying dancing in the rain. The sculpture measures 23 cm (9.2 inches) across at its widest point with the base measuring 17 cm (6.8 inches) in length. The sculpture is 20.5 cm (8.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. The base is inscribed “7263021 Kosta Boda Kjell Engman Lim Ed 1000 Ex”. It retains its original plastic label for “Kosta Boda Since 1742”. There are a couple of applied plastic cushion stickers to the base to help prevent friction on a polished surface.
Heavy lead glass. It weighs in at 2.935 kg. (~ 6 lb. 8 oz.).
