This is an Iittala of Finland tall Arkipelago candlestick in clear glass designed by Timo Sarpaneva and dating from the late 1960s.
The candlestick is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with use.
The vase is a waisted cylinder in shape measuring 5.5 cm (2.2 inches) in diameter at its widest point. The vase is in clear glass with a textured finish and is 25 cm (10 inches) in height. They made these candlesticks in two sizes and this is the taller size. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There is an Iittala logo (red I) sticker to the top of the candlestick with a “Made in Finland” legend on it.
It weighs in at 760 g. (~ 1 lb. 11 oz.).
