This is a tall hand-made (mouth-blown) iridescent studio glass bottle vase designed and signed by Peter Layton, London, England and Norman Stuart Clarke, so probably a piece from Norman’s tenure at Peter Layton’s studios between 1978-1983.

The vase is in a light green colourway with irregularly shaped “drops” in amethyst and blue. The vase is 31 cm (12.4 inches) in height and measures 8 cm (3.2 inches) in diameter at its widest point. It weighs 950 g. (~ 2 lb. 2 oz.). There is an etched “Peter Layton” signature to the rim of the base and also the signature “Norman Clarke”. The base carries a rough pontil mark to its centre. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
