This is a small Holmegaard of Denmark mouth-blown ice-blue coloured glass Rondo vase, designed by Per Lūtken (1916-1998) and dating from 1961.
The vase is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with some 60 years of use.
The vase is blown in the Holmegaard ‘Akva’ (aqua) coloured glass and is approximately in the shape of a sphere. It measures 6.5 cm (2.6 inches) in diameter at its widest point. It ends in a base which is plain and on which are etched the letters “Holmegaard 19 PL 61”. The vase is 5.5 cm (2.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any other obvious evidence of restoration.
It weighs in at 200 g. (~ 7 oz.).
