This is a very large Siddy Langley polychrome studio glass fruit bowl, designed by Siddy in her Devon studio, the piece dating from 2001.
The bowl is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the base consistent with some minimal use.
The bowl is cup-shaped with an everted rim and is blown in green glass decorated with swirls of ochre and patches of white. It measures 30.5 cm (12.1 inches) in diameter at its widest point. It ends in a base which is plain and polished, and around which are etched the words “Siddy Langley demo 2001”. The bowl is 16 cm (6.4 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There is a small extraneous deposit of glass on the inner surface and a couple of unburst small bubbles, all dating from manufacture.
It weighs in at 3.27 kg. (~ 7 lb.).
