This is a Legras (attributed) cameo glass vase, manufactured in St. Denis, France and dating from c1920. The atribution to Legras is by Will Farmer of Antiques Roadshow fame.
The vase is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the base consistent with age and use.
The vase is ovoid in shape and was blown in clear glass, cased in cinammon and green glass and then cameo cut into a summer scene of a lake viewed through trees. It measures 12cm (4.8 inches) in diameter at its widest point. It ends in a base which is plain save for a polished out pontil mark. The vase is not signed but bears a striking resemblance to others we have had which are signed The vase is 19.3 cm (7.7 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
It weighs in at 655 g. (~ 1 lb. 7 oz.).
