This is a late Georgian mouth-blown strawberry diamond cut dwarf ale glass, dating from approximately 1830.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the foot consistent with age and use. It has a polished out pontil mark on the underside of the foot.
The glass has a bucket-shaped bowl measuring 6.3 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter at the rim. The glass has been blown in clear glass and then cut with a band of strawberry diamond cutting within prism cuts to the upper half and cut with petal flute cutting to the lower half. The bowl sits on a short capstan stem with a medial angular knop that ends in a conical foot that measures 7 cm (2.8 inches) in diameter. The glass is 13.5 cm (5.4 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious signs of restoration.
English lead glass, it weighs in at 200 g. ( ~ 7 oz.).
