This is an early 20th century Dekuypers Squareface gin bottle dating from about 1920.
The bottle is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base commensurate with some 100 years of use.
The bottle is oblong in shape and square in cross-section, measuring 8 cm (3.2 inches) across at its widest point. The bottle is embossed with the letters ” Dekuypers Squareface” on one side and with the legend “Who De Kuyper nightly takes soundly sleeps and fit awakes”. The bottle is 23.5 cm (9.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There are some tiny abrasions on the extremities.
It weighs in at 575 g. (~ 1 lb. 4 oz.).
