This is a small glass studio Spirit bowl blown by Mike Hunter of Twists Glass Studio in the Borders region of Scotland.
The bowl is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows some age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with use.
The bowl has been blown in amethyst glass with a pink/red glass rim in incalmo style. The bowl measures 15 cm (6 inches) in diameter at its widest point and sits on a small clear glass foot which has a rough pontil mark to the underside. The bowl measures 8 cm (3.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration. There is a plastic label for “Twists” on the side of the foot and the letters “Mike Bob(?)” are etched into the underside of the foot.
The bowl weighs in at 455 g. (~ 1 lb.).
