Pair of Theresienthal hand-enamelled cordial glasses

£60.00

1 in stock

This is pair of hand-enamelled cordial or liqueur glasses produced by Theresienthal of Bavaria, Germany, dating from the latter part of the 20th century, c1980, and blown in the style of their earlier, much collected Jugendstil glasses of similar design and enamelling.

The glasses are in excellent condition. They show some age related wear and tear.

The glasses measure 5.4 cm (2.1 inches) in diameter across the gilded bowl rims and are 15.1 cm (6 inches) in height. The bowls are cup-shaped and are hand-enamelled in green, yellow and blue with flowers which can be seen to best effect from above. The bowls sit on plain, thin, clear balustroid stems that end in conical feet which measure 5.7 cm (2.2 inches) in diameter. Each foot carries a crown watermark to the underside edge of the foot which celebrates their appointment to the Court of Bavaria. It is also a sign of a later glass as opposed to those from the Jugendstil period. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration.

Each glass weighs in at 60 g. (~ 2 oz.).
