This is a Meissen (Meissener Bleikristall) flash-cut ruby vase dating from some time in the mid to late 20th century.

The vase is in excellent condition for its age. It shows light wear and tear to the base consistent with some use.

The vase body has been blown in clear glass cased in ruby which has been cut through to produce the pattern of flowers in the middle section and the more regular patterning of the top and bottom of the vase. It measures 8.7 cm (3.4 inches) in diameter at its widest point, the foot. The vase measures 26.5 cm (10.6 inches) in height. The body of the vase sits on a clear glass ball knop and a radially cut foot with a polished out pontil mark to the centre. There are no obvious chips, cracks, scratches or any evidence of restoration. It is signed “Meissen” to the upper surface of the foot.. There is no original box.

It weighs in at 625 g. (~ 1 lb. 8 oz.).
