This is a René Lalique (French 1860-1945) Meudon powder box, No. 61, designed by René Lalique for Coty in 1924.

The box is in excellent condition for its age. It shows wear and tear consistent with a century of use.

The box is in clear and frosted glass. It measures 8.8 cm (3.5 inches) across at its widest point and measures 5.5 cm (2.2 inches) in height. There is some very light chipping (fleabites) around the inside edge of the lid and a 2mm wide scratch to its upper surface. There are no other chips, cracks, scratches or any evidence of restoration. The words “TRADE MARK” are etched onto the underside of the base along with the “Coty” signature.

It weighs in at 235 g. (~ 8 1/4 oz.).
