This is a matched set of six Victorian mouth-blown, petal flute-cut port or dram glasses made in the second half of the 19th century, c1860. Some of the glasses retain their swirl pattern gadget mark which dates them pretty accurately to between 1850-1870.
The glasses are in good condition. They show age related wear and tear consistent with age and use.
The glasses measure 6 cm (2.4 inches) in diameter across the bowl rims. The bowls are cut with ten petal flutes and sit on short capstan stems and conical feet which also measure 6 cm (2.4 inches) in diameter. The glasses are 10.2 cm (4.1 inches) in height. Dimensions vary slightly from glass to glass as is to be expected of mouth-blown glass. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration. One glass from the set has some slight roughness to the bowl rim. One glass has extensive scratching to the inside of the bowl. Three of the glasses are very subtly different in colour and dimensions to the other three hence our belief that they are a matched set.
Lead glass, each one weighs 105 g. (~ 4 oz.).
