This is a tall mouth-blown optically moulded ruby glass vase, dating from the mid 20th century.
The vase is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with some use.
The vase is blown in ruby glass with internal slightly wrythened broad rib moulding which affects the light as it passes through. The vase is ovoid in shape when viewed from above and has an everted rim. It measures 13.8 cm (5.5 inches) in width at its widest point. It ends in a base with a neatly polished out pontil mark. The vase is 19 cm (7.6 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
It weighs in at 1.02 kg. (~ 2 lb. 4 oz.).
