This is a Victorian English mould-blown glass banded tankard with an applied handle dating from the second half of the 19th century, c1870.
The glass is in good condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with some 150 years of use.
The glass has a tapered cylindrical bowl measuring 7.5 cm (3 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is moulded with two bands of prism moulding. The glass ends in a concave, plain base which measures 9 cm (3.6 inches) in diameter and which is rough to the inner edge of the depression where the glass was broken off from the rod. The glass is 11.5 cm (4.6 inches) in height. The handle was first applied to the bottom of the bowl and then finished off at the top. There is a single fleabite chip out of the base rim measuring 3 mm in width There are no other chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There are a couple of minute inclusions in the metal of the bowl dating from manufacture.
It weighs in at 585 g. (~ 1 lb. 5 oz.).
