This is a heavy triform glass vase in the Beukenootje (Beech nut) Controlled Bubble series designed by Floris Meydam (1919-2011) for Glasunie Leerdam of the Netherlands, the design dating from 1951.
The vase is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with age and use.
The vase is triform in shape and measures 8.5 cm (3.4 inches) across at its widest point. The vase was blown in clear glass, decorated with symmetrically controlled spirals of bubbles, and manipulated into a three-sided vessel. The vase is unsigned and carries a polished out pontil mark to the underside of the base. The vase is 11.3 cm (4.5 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious signs of restoration.
Lead glass weighing in at 920 g. ( ~ 6 lb. 2 oz.).
