This is a Kosta Boda hand-painted glass Artist’s Collection Tulipa wine goblet, blown in Sweden and designed by the late Ulrika Hydman-Vallien (1938-2018).
The goblet is in excellent condition. This means, of course, that it shows some wear and tear to the edge of the foot and elsewhere commensurate with use.
The goblet reservoir is of ovoid form and is blown in clear glass which has then been hand-painted with a green background and with two red and black tulips with green and black stems and leaves. The bowl rim measures 8 cm (3.2 inches) in diameter. The bowl sits on a long plain stem decorated in green and blue bands which leads to a conical foot in the same colours measuring 7.5 cm (3 inches) in diameter. The goblet is 25.5 cm (10.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches, or any obvious signs of restoration. It bears a plastic label to the top of the foot that reads “Kosta Boda since 1742” and another on the bottom of the foot which reads “Hand-painted Do not machine wash”. The words “Kosta Boda Artist Coll. Ulrika HV 99341” are inscribed on the rim of the underside of the foot. The letters “UlrikaHVKS” are painted on one of the leaves on the bowl. It weighs 355 g. (~ 13 oz.).
