These are a pair of late Victorian French hand-painted black glass vases, dating from approximately 1890.

The vases are in excellent condition for their age. This means, of course, that they show some wear and tear to the bases and elsewhere commensurate with 100+ years of use.

The vases are of inverted baluster shape and were blown in black glass. The rims are everted and measure 6.5 cm (2.6 inches) in diameter. The vases are hand-painted with flowers in blue, green, yellow, orange and white enamel. The vases are 18.2 cm (7.3 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches, or any other obvious signs of restoration. The bases carry a collector’s label.

Each vase weighs in at 410 g. (~ 14 oz.).
