This is a late 20th century Daum, Nancy, large and heavy paté de verre bowl, or coupelle and cover.
The bowl is in good condition. It shows minimal age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with use.
The bowl is in the form of a lily pad with a brighter green lid and a darker green bowl. The lower part of the bowl sits on the backs of a number of frogs (five in total) which sit on a lily pad. The frogs are cast in various hues of green, amber and blue. The bowl measures 15.7 cm (6.2 inches) in diameter at the rim and the lily pad is 18 cm (7.2 inches) in diameter at its widest point. The lid carries a sixth frog with its leg raised, the foot of which, unfortunately, has been broken off and professionally restuck. The bowl 12.5 cm (5 inches) in height without the cover and is 21 cm (8.4 inches) in height with the cover in place. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any other obvious evidence of restoration. There is a tiny blemish to the moulding on one of the “leaves” a shown in the last image which dates from manufacture. The words “Daum France” are etched onto the edge of the base in lower case script. It does not come in its original box.
It weighs in at 3.91 kg. (~ 8 lb. 10 oz.).
