This is a Victorian controlled bubble green glass dump paperweight or doorstop dating from the mid to late 19th century.
The dump is in good condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows the age related wear and tear to the rim of the base commensurate with some 150 years of use.
The dump is in green glass, with a series of controlled bubbles emanating from the base embedded within it. It measures 14 cm (5.6 inches) in height. The base has a large, rough pontil mark and the dump is 7.3 cm (2.9 inches) in diameter at its widest point. There is significant light scratching and scuffing to the outer surface as should be expected of a doorstop. There are no chips, cracks, other significant scratches or any evidence of restoration. It sits unevenly on its base and rocks gently.
It weighs an impressive 1.28 kg. (~ 2 lb. 13 oz.).
