This is a Theresienthal enamelled hock glass, manufactured in Bavaria, Germany, and dating from the beginning of the 20th century, c1905. The glass is design number 1878 and can be seen in the book “Theresienthal” by Karl-Wilhelm Warthorst of the Theresienthal factory.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows some age related wear and tear consistent with age and use.
The glass measures 7.8 cm (3.1 inches) in diameter across the bowl rim and is 19 cm (7.6 inches) in height. The bowl is enamelled with green shamrock. The foot rim shows the remains of gilding. The bowl is ogee in shape and leads to a clear, cigar shaped stem and a conical foot which measures 7.5 cm (3 inches) in diameter. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration.
The glass weighs 155 g. (~ 5 1/2 oz.).
