Bob Crooks small amber pineapple vase

SORRY SOLD

Out of stock

This is a small glass vase blown in the West Country for First Glass by Bob Crooks. Bob Crooks is one of the UK’s leading modern glass blowers and his works have been exhibited at many international events as well as having a loyal following in the UK.

The vase is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows some age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with use.

The vase has been blown in amber glass which has been pinched to produce an external pattern. The vase measures 7.5 cm (3 inches) in diameter at its widest point and sits on a small, clear glass foot that measures 5 cm (2 inches) in diameter and carries Bob’s signature to the underside, plus a collector’s sticker. It carries a complementary blue glass stopper that represents the top leaves of a pineapple. The vase measures 13 cm (5.2 inches) in height without the stopper and 23 cm (9.2 inches) in height with the stopper inserted. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. Having said that we believe that the stopper peg has been ground at the end leaving the stopper rocking gently in the vase.

English lead glass weighing in at 380 g. (~ 13 oz.).
