Georgian three-ring Prussian style decanter

This is a Georgian, mouth-blown, Prussian-shaped full size (holds a full bottle of wine) decanter dating from the early 19th century, c1820.

The decanter is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear consistent with some 200 years of use.

The decanter is Prussian shaped with three applied annular neck rings. The body is plain save for a basal band of cut finger fluting. The base is also plain with a polished out pontil mark to its centre and measures 10.5 cm (4.2 inches) in diameter. The decanter is 22 cm (8.8 inches) in height without the stopper and 25cm (10 inches) in height with the stopper inserted.

The stopper is of radially cut mushroom form, and is possibly the original. It is of roughly the same age and metal as the decanter and is an excellent fit.

There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.

English lead glass decanter weighing in at 810 g. (~ 1 lb. 13 oz).
