This is a scarce late Georgian English mouth-blown cut glass pouring tumbler dating from the beginning of the 19th century, c1830.
The tumbler is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the base consistent with some 200+ years of age and use.
The tumbler is roughly is cylindrical, and is has been wheel-cut with a band of wide petal flutes to the lower half. It measures 11 cm (4.4 inches) in diameter at its widest point (to the edge of the pouring lip). The base is plain save for a polished out pontil mark. The tumbler measures 11.5 cm (4.6 inches) in height. There are some tiny flea-bite chips to some of the cut facets of the edge of the base but it’s in remarkably good shape for a glass of this age. There are no other chips, cracks, scratches or any evidence of restoration.
It weighs in at 440 g. (~ 1 lb.).
