This is a large studio glass Ludic scent bottle, blown in Nottingham by Stuart Akroyd. Stuart is one of the UK’s leading modern glass blowers.
The bottle is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows some age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with use.
The bottle has been blown in blue glass, decorated with free-flowing white canes and then cased in clear glass. The bottle measures 8 cm (3.2 inches) in diameter at its widest point, is 14.5 cm (5.8 inches) in height without the stopper, and 20.5 cm (8.2 inches) tall with the stopper inserted. The stopper is of spire form blown in clear glass and is almost certainly the original. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration. There is a plastic label to the base which reads “Stuart Akroyd Made in England”.
English lead glass weighing in at 545 g. (~ 1 lb. 3 oz.).
